Interview: FVG councilor for security, Pierpaolo Roberti

The Regional Councilor for Security, Pierpaolo Roberti, met on Monday with Giovanna Lori, the newly appointed director of the Vincenzo Raiola Police Training School in Trieste.

Roberti described the institution as “a fundamental center for training and security, not only for Trieste and Friuli Venezia Giulia, but for the entire country.” He said it was “a source of pride” to welcome the new director at the regional headquarters.

The Trieste training school, based in the Duca d’Aosta barracks, is one of the largest of its kind in Italy, preparing hundreds of recruits for the State Police each year. “This school operates at full capacity,” Roberti noted, adding that its work is essential in supplying local communities with new officers.

Wishing Lori success in her new role, Roberti expressed hope that many of the young trainees would soon serve across the country, reinforcing public safety in their communities.

The Vincenzo Raiola Police Training School is a national reference point for initial training of new police recruits, who join the institution after passing State Police entrance examinations.
