Air travel between Rome Fiumicino and the Friuli Venezia Giulia regional airport in Ronchi dei Legionari was limited on Monday after ITA Airways canceled two scheduled flights.

The morning flight from Rome, due to arrive at 10:25 a.m., was called off, as was the return service to Fiumicino scheduled for 11:25 a.m. Airport officials in Ronchi said the cancellations were made by the national carrier for technical reasons.

In addition, the regular 3:30 p.m. service between Trieste and Rome has been suspended throughout August due to planned maintenance on ITA’s Airbus 220 fleet.

As a result, only two connections to the capital were available on Monday. Service is expected to return to three daily flights starting Tuesday, with the full schedule of four flights per day resuming in September.
