As the UEFA Super Cup approaches, the final leg of the “Trophy Experience” tour is set to arrive in Udine, where Paris Saint-Germain will face Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday, August 13, at Stadio Friuli.
The three trophies — the Champions League, the Europa League and the UEFA Super Cup — have been traveling through Friuli Venezia Giulia for the past two weeks, drawing crowds in Gorizia, Trieste, Grado and Lignano Sabbiadoro. They will be on display at the UEFA Fan Festival in Piazza Libertà on Tuesday, August 12, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and again on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The festival’s opening ceremony, scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, will feature regional sports figures, including Jonathan Milan, fresh off two stage wins at the Tour de France.
In the lead-up to the match, Udine has embraced a celebratory atmosphere. A four-meter-tall replica of the trophy has been installed in Piazza San Giacomo, alongside oversized footballs in central locations. Piazza Libertà will host live entertainment, games, youth activities and evening projections, organized with the support of the city and the Italian Football Federation.
Tourism Offers and Cultural Access
PromoTurismoFVG has partnered with local institutions to offer ticket holders and an accompanying guest discounted or free entry to museums and cultural sites in Udine and across the region. Reduced entry to Udine’s museums is available through August 11, with free audio guides offered until August 15. On August 12, all city museums will be open to the public at no charge.
Discounts and promotions extend to other parts of Friuli Venezia Giulia, including Trieste’s Civic Museums, the Basilica of Aquileia, the Domus of Tito Macro, Gorizia’s castle and “Zoran Music” exhibition, Pordenone’s Civic Museums, and Miramare Castle near Trieste. Free audio guides for Aquileia, Gorizia, Palmanova, Pordenone and Trieste are available at regional information points until mid-August.
A commemorative T-shirt is also available through the regional online shop, and a dedicated event page on PromoTurismoFVG’s website provides transportation details, schedules and visitor information.
Fan Zones for Supporters
On match day, two fan meeting points will operate from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Piazza Primo Maggio for Tottenham supporters and Parco Moretti for PSG fans. Both locations will feature themed entertainment, food and beverage stands, music and temporary installations.
The UEFA Super Cup will mark a high-profile moment for Udine, combining elite European football with a showcase of the region’s culture and hospitality.
