After a brisk and breezy start to the day, the weather across Friuli Venezia Giulia is expected to take a turn for the better, with widening clear spells and predominantly sunny conditions along the coast by late afternoon, according to ARPA FVG, the region’s environmental protection agency.
The early hours were marked by the sustained presence of the Bora, the region’s famous northeasterly wind. ARPA FVG reported strong gusts sweeping the coastline and the eastern plains through the night and into Monday morning. Inland areas, too, felt the wind’s moderate grip. However, the agency forecasts a gradual weakening of the Bora’s intensity from the afternoon onward.
The clearing skies, paired with the calming of winds, are set to usher in a serene start to the week. Coastal areas will benefit the most, with long stretches of sunshine likely into the evening — a welcome shift after recent unsettled weather.
The improving conditions come as high-pressure systems begin to reassert themselves over northeastern Italy, bringing a more stable atmosphere in the days ahead. ARPA FVG meteorologists expect the region to enjoy increasingly warm and settled weather throughout the week, offering locals and tourists alike a glimpse of summer’s promise.
