On Friday, October 18, the city of Trieste will implement temporary traffic restrictions on Via del Lazzaretto Vecchio to accommodate the production of the upcoming film “A Year of School,” directed by Laura Samani. NEFERTITI Films S.r.L., the company behind the project, has planned a series of film shoots throughout the city during the months of October and November 2024.

The municipality, in response to the upcoming filming, has issued Ordinance No. 1071-24, which will close Via del Lazzaretto Vecchio to all vehicle traffic between 6 PM and 11 PM on Friday evening. The closure affects the section of the road between Salita Al Promontorio and Via Belpoggio. Authorities note that the shutdown may be extended depending on weather conditions or unforeseen delays.

However, residents with property along the route will be granted limited access to their homes, with the exception of areas deemed physically inaccessible.

The film, “A Year of School,” is expected to bring significant attention to Trieste as a cinematic backdrop, highlighting the city’s growing role in Italian film production.
