Step into Politeama Rossetti as the dance world unfolds a precious moment on January 4th. A classic masterpiece takes its most exquisite form, showcasing an internationally acclaimed company making its debut in Trieste. This performance promises to captivate the audience, leaving them spellbound.

The Romanian National Opera of Iasi stands as a historic and prestigious institution, housed in the magnificent National Theatre, designed by renowned Viennese architects Feliner and Helmer in 1896, considered among the world’s most beautiful theaters. Since the mid-20th century, it boasts an excellent ballet ensemble.

In 2024, the extraordinary, flawless ensemble takes the spotlight on the stage of Teatro Stabile del Friuli Venezia Giulia. The not-to-be-missed event on January 4th at 8:30 PM features the highly skilled dancers of the Romanian company, technically adept and expressive, performing one of the most beloved ballets, “Swan Lake.”

The foundation of the Romanian National Opera Ballet of Iasi’s dance corps traces back to the entire graduating class of the Bucharest Choreography High School in 1957. In its early years, ONRI showcased artistic vigor, rivaling Bucharest in quality with 80 extraordinary ballerinas, presenting large-scale productions and a rapid pace of premieres and new shows. The maestro Bella Balogh, directing and choreographing numerous prestigious ballets, solidified the collective.

In recent years, ONRI’s dance department has welcomed dancers from around the world, including Russians, Moldovans, Cubans, and soloists from Japan and Italy. At Politeama Rossetti, the company makes its debut on the evening of January 4th, presenting a gem from their repertoire, “Swan Lake,” set to Tchaikovsky’s music and choreographed by Marius Petipa.

The opulence of the production and the precise execution by the grand company will leave the audience breathless. The ballet’s renowned storyline unfolds the poignant love between Prince Siegfried and the sweet Odette, transformed into a swan by a curse, and his rivalry with the black swan, Odile.

Tickets for the show are still available at the Politeama Rossetti Box Office and the usual outlets of Teatro Stabile del Friuli Venezia Giulia: www.ilrossetti.vivaticket.it. Additional information is accessible on the website www.ilrossetti.it and by phone at 040.3593511.
