Trieste’s once again in the international spotlight: the opening night of the European Youth Winter Olympic Festival this very windy Saturday night in Piazza Unità was a sight to see.
Thousands of young athletes from around the globe marched down our beautiful square, respective flags in hands, in the anticipation of a great week ahead on our region’s slopes.
The XVI Winter European Olympic Youth Festival will take place from the 21st to the 28Th January 2023: 8 days of competitions for the best European young athletes that will compete in the territory of Friuli Venezia Giulia and also in the neighboring countries of Austria (Spittal) and Slovenia (Planica).
