The evening ferry service of the Delfino Verde between Muggia and Trieste will continue through the Barcolana regatta, following a request from the municipality of Muggia. The extended schedule, originally set to conclude on Sunday, September 14, will now run until October 12.
The service has received positive feedback so far, attracting local residents from Trieste and Muggia, as well as numerous tourists. The current Muggia administration had advocated for evening trips months ago, marking the first time such service was offered, responding to longstanding demand during the summer months.
“This is very welcome news,” said Mayor Paolo Polidori. “Following the success of the first year of evening Delfino Verde runs, extending the schedule was timely, especially with the Barcolana attracting large numbers of visitors. I thank the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, Trieste Trasporti, and Delfino Verde for their collaboration and availability. I also encourage local businesses in Muggia to take advantage of this opportunity to offer discounts or promotions for passengers.”
Deputy Mayor and Tourism Councillor Nicola Delconte added, “Once again, a collaborative effort between the municipality, the region, and TPL has produced significant results for Muggia. Tourism in the city has grown to unprecedented levels, supported by extensive cultural and promotional events.”
