The regional government of Friuli Venezia Giulia has approved €1.5 million in funding aimed at supporting micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises across the region. The initiative, proposed by Regional Councillor for Productive Activities Sergio Emidio Bini, is intended to strengthen managerial growth, innovation, and international competitiveness.
Funds will be distributed proportionally through the local chambers of commerce, based on the number of active businesses in each province. Udine will receive the largest share, €716,873, followed by Pordenone with €398,472, Trieste with €239,696, and Gorizia with €144,959.
A new call for applications, expected to open in December following approval in October, will support two main initiatives: the hiring of highly qualified managerial staff for up to 24 months and the participation of business owners, administrators, and employees in accredited executive training programs.
Incentives will cover up to 50 percent of eligible costs, with a ceiling of €60,000 for managerial hires and €2,000 for participation in training programs. To qualify, companies will need to present a development plan aligned with strategic objectives such as digitalization, organizational innovation, circular economy practices, environmental sustainability, corporate partnerships, and international market access.
Councilor Bini noted that the measure fits within the region’s Agenda FVG Manifattura 2030 strategy, which emphasizes equipping local enterprises with advanced managerial skills. “Introducing qualified management into our small and medium-sized enterprises means supporting growth, consolidation, and internationalization, with the goal of matching and exceeding the standards of Italy’s and Europe’s most advanced regions,” he said.
