The city of Trieste has announced temporary traffic restrictions in connection with the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, which will be observed at the Tempio Israelitico on Via San Francesco d’Assisi on September 22 and 23. The synagogue is expected to host a large number of worshipers during religious services.

To ensure security and smooth operations, the municipality has issued an ordinance outlining a series of measures that will remain in effect from 4:30 p.m. on Monday, September 22, until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23, or until deemed no longer necessary.

Parking will be prohibited, with removal enforced, along both sides of Via Guido Zanetti, along Via San Francesco d’Assisi between Piazza Virgilio Giotti and number 17, and throughout Piazza Virgilio Giotti. Vehicles parked illegally in these areas will be subject to towing.

Exceptions will be made for emergency vehicles, law enforcement, and vehicles serving the religious events. Cars belonging to people with disabilities, displaying official permits, will also be allowed access to designated spaces within the restricted areas.

Authorities noted that further adjustments to traffic measures or additional security provisions may be made as required by police officers on site.
