The City of Trieste has issued a temporary traffic ordinance in preparation for the Italian National Road Cycling Championship for Professional and Elite riders, scheduled for Sunday, June 29. The race will begin in Piazza dell’Unità d’Italia in Trieste and conclude in the city of Gorizia.
According to Ordinance No. 614-25, published on Wednesday, June 25, several temporary traffic and parking measures will be in place to ensure safety and smooth coordination of the event.
Key changes include:
- No Parking Zones: A parking ban with vehicle removal will be enforced from 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, until 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 29, or until deemed no longer necessary. Affected areas include:
- Via Ottaviano Augusto, specifically the portions within the City of Trieste jurisdiction near the fruit and vegetable market, excluding spaces reserved for the Ministry of Health (USMAF) and for disabled drivers.
- Via Giulio Cesare, in front of Campo Marzio railway station (odd-numbered side), between motorcycle parking spaces and the loading/unloading zone designated for the post office.
- Temporary Road Closures: Traffic will be temporarily suspended on Sunday, June 29, between 10:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., or as needed, along the race route. These closures will be managed by local police officers and members of the event’s organizing committee.
City officials urge residents and visitors to plan accordingly and cooperate with signage and personnel to facilitate the safe execution of the event.
