Second Phase in FVG, Fedriga: “Less Prohibitions, More Rules”

We don’t know about other Italian regions, but Friuli Venezia Giulia always stands out: the beaches, the mountains, the amendments to the governmental decrees. On Sunday, May 3s in his usual fashion governor Massimiliano Fedriga decided to tweak the mandate, just a little bit.

Fedriga is notorious for giving out daily interviews that are usually posted on his Facebook page. In one of those he said “We need less prohibitions in our region, and more rules”.

So what rules are we to follow from May 4th to May 18th (the tentative date of a new decree)?

  1. Always wear your mask and keep your distance in public places.
  2. No need for masks in the following cases :
    a. When driving your car
    b. Kids under 6
    c. People with disabilities that prevents them from wearing a mask
    d. When exercising in a secluded place
  3. Movements within the region are now allowed (for work, health or physical activity reasons).
  4. All shops are to offer hand sanitizers and gloves to their customers.
  5. One family member at a time is allowed to shop.
  6. Kids clothes shops, outdoor markets, bookshops, flower shops are allowed to reopen.
  7. The owners can fix maintenance issues within their bars and restaurants (even if still closed).
  8. You are allowed to fix maintenances issues in your boats, campers, cars, bicycles, and second homes (in the region).
  9. Maintenance activity is allowed in beaches, parks and playgrounds.
  10. Parks and gardens are to be reopened
  11. Fishing is now allowed
  12. Professional athletes can now work out with a coach
  13. Takeaway is now allowed on Sundays
  14. All food shops to be closed on Sundays
  15. Libraries will reopen (for borrowing books only)
  16. Physical activity with family members outside is now allowed
