The picturesque Muggia Vecchia Park is set to host the final performance of its popular summer concert series on Sunday, August 11, marking the conclusion of “Bande d’Estate nel Querceto del Parco di Muggia Vecchia.” The event, now a cherished tradition for both locals and tourists, will feature the “Città di Muggia” Wind Orchestra in a highly anticipated performance.

Organized by the “Città di Muggia” Wind Orchestra, this year’s series has been made possible thanks to the generous support of the Municipality of Muggia, the regional ANBIMA, the “Amici di Muggia Vecchia” Association, and the Parish of the Sanctuary. The series has brought together music enthusiasts in an open-air setting adjacent to the historic Church of S. Maria Assunta.

The series kicked off with the “Città di Pordenone” Philharmonic on July 27, followed by the “Donatori di Sangue” Band from Villesse on July 28. The final performance will feature the “Città di Muggia” Wind Orchestra, which will present a repertoire of its most impactful and popular pieces, conducted by the young and talented Giacomo Sfetez.

Ferdinando Parlato, President of the “Città di Muggia” Wind Orchestra, expressed enthusiasm for the event: “The series has brought three regional orchestras to Muggia Vecchia Park, each contributing to a vibrant cultural exchange. This finale promises to be a spectacular celebration of musical talent in a truly unique setting.”

The “Città di Muggia” Wind Orchestra, founded in 2004, represents the newest of the three featured ensembles. It began as the Banda Cittadina and has grown into a prominent group with approximately sixty musicians. The orchestra is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich tradition of wind music in the Muggia region and beyond.

The “Città di Pordenone” Philharmonic, the oldest of the ensembles, has a storied history dating back to 1837. Celebrating its 170th anniversary in 2007, it continues to be a cornerstone of Pordenone’s cultural life. The “Donatori di Sangue” Band from Villesse, which marks its 50th anniversary this year, is notable for its longstanding commitment to community music and will perform at Muggia Vecchia for the first time.

The concerts have been held in the enchanting surroundings of the Muggia Vecchia Archaeological Park, providing a stunning backdrop for the performances. Each evening has been marked by high-class music and enthusiastic crowds, enhancing the cultural fabric of this scenic seaside town.

The final concert on August 11 is expected to draw a large crowd, with attendees eager to experience the culmination of this summer’s musical offerings. As the sun sets over the oak grove, the “Città di Muggia” Wind Orchestra’s performance will serve as a fitting conclusion to a season of exceptional music and community celebration.
